Dr. Trevor Erikson
Dr. Erikson is a specialist in the natural treatment of skin disease and other inflammatory disorders.
Dr. Erikson finished his formal studies in 2005, first at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver, BC, and then later at the Oshio College of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in Victoria, BC, to become a Doctor of Traditional Chinese medicine. Dr. Erikson then interned in the busy dermatology department of Hunan’s #1 TCM Hospital in Chengsha, China, seeing upwards of 65 patients per day, before going on in 2007 to complete Mazin Al-Khafaji’s prestigious Chinese medicine dermatology diploma program in London, England. Dr. Erikson has continued to train with Mazin Al-Khafaji, being recognized as one his top students, and is currently working with him to set up an international registry of physicians practicing Chinese medicine dermatology.
For more than a decade Dr. Erikson has been using herbal medicines to help patients overcome a wide range of complicated skin diseases, as well as other inflammatory disorders such as Crohne’s and Colitis. Dr. Erikson is recognized throughout the world for his skill and dedication to clinical efficacy. He regularly mentors other physicians (both Chinese medicine practitioners and western Medical Doctors) on the effective use of herbal medicine for skin disease, has lectured in both live and webinar settings, and has published articles in several Chinese medicine journals.
‘Dermatology in China is considered one of the oldest specialities in the world, being one since at least 300 BCE. This means that for over 2000 years, physicians have been using herbal medicines to treat the majority of skin diseases we know today. This fascinates me and I feel incredibly honoured that I can offer such services to patients in our modern times. I love helping patient’s overcome their struggles with skin disease, for the results are measurable. By photographing my patients at every visit we can tell, without a doubt, whether the treatment is working or not.’
Dr. Erikson currently practices out of his own private clinic in South Surrey, BC, about 30 minutes drive from Vancouver. When not seeing patients, studying or writing articles, Dr. Erikson can be found gardening, playing guitar or spending time with his wife, Gillian Allan (a Registered Midwife), and three children.
