Baby eczema relieved safely with natural medicine

It is every parent, and Doctors, wish that children be healthy and happy. That they may live normal vibrant lives and enrich us with their smiles and laughter.

When babies develop eczema, it can be a very unpleasant site. The rash tends to be more widespread, and the itch more uncontrollable – affecting their sleep and quality of life. Typical treatments still involve topical corticosteroids, which can have very detrimental side effects and may not even work in many cases.

Occasionally the problem is food related and is as simple as the breast feeding mom adjusting her diet. Unfortunately many mothers do try to adjust their diets, living within very strict guidelines, but still find their child suffers, leaving the mother completely depleted and paranoid to eat anything in fear that she is destroying her child’s health. Dietary adjustments only go so far and if they don’t work, meaning the child is clearly not getting better, then I always encourage mothers to let it go. Stop worrying that you are the one to blame for your child’s problem!

So what to do?

When I treat children and infants, I always try to start with externally applied herbal washes and creams. Even though eczema, in Chinese medicine, is coming from the inside out, babies will often respond very well to external methods first. Saving the parent from having to feed them herbal medicines, which do not taste very good, is always a good first step.

At the very least the externally applied natural medicines will offer much needed relief. If the problem does not respond, and the eczema is quite severe, then I will have the parent cook up a herbal tea that they will administer to their child with an eye dropper or spoon.

It has been my experience that children respond very well and quickly to herbal medicines, even within a day or two their rash can dramatically improve. The best thing is that Chinese herbal medicines have been found to be both effective and well tolerated for the treatment of childhood eczema. This means that Chinese medicine can be a safer alternative to the damaging use of steroidal creams. A very important fact that every parent wishes for their children.

I receive thank you letters and phone calls all the time from the parents of children that I treat. They are truly what makes my work the most worth while. Knowing that I can help a young person live a more enjoyable life, using the natural medicines discovered long ago by our ancestors, is the greatest joy.

Hi Trevor,
I just wanted to let you know: The cream you gave us for (my son) is working magic. His legs are beautifully smooth, and he’s much happier…”

Wishing you good health,

Dr. Trevor Erikson
